Animal Imaging / MALDI Mass Spect.
I am currently in the process of completing a proposal for my PhD work under Dr. John Gore. Most of the aims will investigate properties of proton relaxation in a variety of tissue models. Proton relaxation processes are the fundamental mechanisms by which contrast is generated in MRI. Obtaining a more quantitative understanding of these effects will help determine optimal ways to utilize MRI to advance clinical imaging. I promise this description will improve as I figure out what I'm doing.
Research Musings
Being an experimentalist and an engineer, read: tinkerer, I'm constantly in the process of optimization of techniques to achieve a more efficient and useful operation.
This is much like tweaking a recipe for the perfect buttermilk biscuits. There are guidelines... many opinions on the 'right' way to do things... but you still are itching to tweak things and try again. Thanks to my mother for that!
