My primary area of research involves developing novel Chemical Exchange Saturation Transfer (CEST) imaging technique.
I am currently working on quantitative CEST imaging methods. CEST imaging has been used to study acute ischemic acidosis, and has significant application in imaging stroke. However, the conventional CEST contrast is not only dependent on solute exchange rate (related to pH of solution), but dependent on the spillover effect, free water relaxation, macromolecular pool exchange (MT) effect and MT asymmetry effect. Quantitative CEST imaging can significantly improved pH specificity and sensitivity.
